Radio Summer Camp
Join EMay for Radio Camp, a week-long exploration into the world of sound recording and creative communication.
June 20- 24 9- 2p
For our “superstars” (ages 10-15), we’ll get more in-depth with the technologies and techniques used to create podcasts, radio dramas, interviews, public service announcements, and music recordings. Everyone will have a chance to create content by researching, compiling, producing, and of course recording and editing.
June 27- July 1 9-2p
For our “little stars” (ages 5-9), we’ll spend time on how to communicate clearly. This will include what we want to say, how we want to say it, and how that translates to recording. We’ll learn how to use a microphone, how to share our ideas clearly, and how to be great listeners. We’ll listen back to our work and decide the best ways to share it - like with art, movement, or video!
The last day will include a celebration where friends and family can come and listen to what we’ve created! We’ll also have a blog where our new radio pieces can live on the internet.
Both weeks of camp will take place at Mountain Laurel Learning Center in Thomas, WV. Each Camp is limited to 12 participants.
